Ingebjørg Finnbakk

Ingebjørg Finnbakk is an adviser in the Thematic Programme at NOREF. She has several years of experience in engaging with armed actors and implementing inclusive dialogue and peace processes in the Great Lakes Region with the European Institute of Peace and the UN Peacekeeping mission (MONUSCO). From 2016-2019, she was deployed to Ituri Province, eastern DRC, and played a key role in initiating and building an inclusive political peace process between the most significant armed group (FRPI) in the area and the government resulting in an official peace agreement signed on February 28 2020. Ingebjørg Finnbakk has also worked on conflict related sexual violence (CRSV) and women, peace, and security (WPS) at the Peace Research Institute Oslo and UNFPA. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo and is a member of the Nordic Women Mediators-Norway.
