Chiara Ayad

Chiara Ayad is an Adviser at NOREF in the Middle East and North Africa programme. She currently leads NOREF’s work on Syria and supports Palestine and Iraq programming. She previously managed NOREF’s support to the UN-OSE Syria’s Syrian Civil Society Support Room. Prior to joining NOREF, Chiara was a Researcher at the Arab Reform Initiative where she worked on topics of decentralization of governance, Palestinian civil society, and Arab youth political engagement. Chiara specializes in facilitation and mediation process support and is a member of the Nordic Women Mediators Network. Chiara holds a Master’s degree in International Security from the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po Paris. She speaks Arabic, English, French, Hebrew and Norwegian.
