Are Hovdenak

Are Hovdenak has long experience from various fields in the Middle East and North Africa, including humanitarian aid, journalism, research and diplomacy. He was a coordinator for NORWAC in Lebanon during the 1980’s and has worked as a free-lance journalist from several conflict areas, including Western Sahara, Palestine and Kurdistan. He has conducted research projects at Fafo and PRIO on Palestinian affairs and other Middle East issues, has been a country adviser on Iran and Palestine at the Norwegian Country of Origin Information Center, and has worked at the Norwegian Embassy in Beirut. Hovdenak holds an MA degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo and has studied history and Arabic.
