Janel B. Galvanek

Janel B. Galvanek is a senior project manager at the Berghof Foundation for the project Strengthening Federalism through Conflict Transformation in Somalia, and　was a lead researcher for the project Peaceful Coexistence? – "Traditional" and "Non-traditional" Conflict Resolution Mechanisms. Her topics of interest include engaging local actors in conflict transformation and the interaction between state and non-state actors during conflict. She holds master’s degrees in peace research and security policy from Hamburg University and in German studies from Georgetown University, Washington, DC.
