Helena Pérez-Niño
Helena Pérez-Niño is a PhD candidate in the Political Economy of Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London). Her research engages with the political economy of agrarian change, borderlands and post-conflict transitions. Her PhD Thesis on the tobacco boom in a Mozambican borderland involved 13 months of fieldwork in Mozambique and Malawi. She has published on the politics of the extractives, transport and agriculture sectors in Southern Africa and is the editorial assistant of the Journal of Agrarian Change.
