Report launch: Norway's contribution to peacebuilding in Guatemala 1996-2016
Twenty years have passed since the signing of the peace accord in Guatemala. Has Norway contributed positively to peacebuilding in this period? A report by the Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM) and NOREF sets out to answer this. The report is launched and discussed at the Nobel Peace Center 12 September, participants include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Rigoberta Menchu and prominent experts.

Twenty years have passed since the signing of the peace accord in Guatemala. Norway supported the process leading up to the accord, and during the years that have passed since, it has supported initiatives related to the implementation of the agreement. Has Norway contributed positively to peacebuilding in this period? A report by the Centre for Development and the Environment (SUM) and NOREF, for the Norwegian MFA, sets out to answer this. The authors have studied how the long-term engagement of the Norwegian cooperation has contributed to peacebuilding in Guatemala and at this report launch the main conclusions are presented and discussed, by prominent experts in the field.
