Marte Heian-Engdal is named new Deputy Director at NOREF. She is currently NOREF’s Head of Development.
Heian-Engdal has been with NOREF since 2017. She holds a Master’s degree in Middle East Security Studies from University of St Andrews, and a PhD in International History from the University of Oslo. She is a published author and academic, and a frequent media commentator in her field. In her research as well as her operative work, her focus has mainly been on the Middle East.
“Marte Heian-Engdal is a valued asset at NOREF. She has been an important driving force in the collective effort to place NOREF among the world’s foremost conflict resolution and mediation support institutions”, says NOREF Director Dag Nylander. “She is a team player, with a mindset that NOREF will benefit from as we continue to develop NOREF as an organization. I look forward to the cooperation”, Nylander says.
Heian-Engdal starts in her new role as Deputy Director on 1 January 2021.
