Álvaro Vasconcelos

Álvaro de Vasconcelos is an associate senior researcher at the Arab Reform Initiative, a visiting professor at the University of São Paulo and Steering Committee Coordinator of the Global Governance Group (GG10). In 1981, he founded the Instituto de Estudos Estratégicos e Internacionais (IEEI), which he directed until serving as Director of the European Union Institute for Security Studies in Paris from 2007 to 2012. He has published extensively on foreign policy, common security policy, Euro-Mediterranean relations and the new world order.
