Adaptation of Humanitarian Aid Practices

15 December 2011

These are major challenges not only for operational humanitarian actors, but also for donors and their ability to implement their own strategies. Given current operational contexts and projections for the future, there is a need for the humanitarian system to innovate and adapt more systematically to accommodate new trends and ensuring quality interventions in situations of acute and prolonged insecurity.

The project will provide analyses and concrete inputs to the ongoing review of the humanitarian system and its traditional models and processes with a view of identifying ways to provide the best assistance possible to populations in need. Special focus will be put on reaching more cost-effective, accountable and sustainable solutions. The project will have an initial focus on Somalia.
