Maria Raquel Freire

Maria Raquel Freire is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra, Portugal, and professor of International Relations at the same university. Her main research interests focus on international security, foreign policy and peace studies. Recent publications (all with R. Kanet) include Russia and Its Near Neighbours: Identity, Interests and Foreign Policy (Palgrave, 2012), Competing for Influence: The EU and Russia in Post-Soviet Eurasia (Republic of Letters, 2012) and Russia and European Security (Republic of Letters, 2012).
